Paris Las Vegas

Paris, Las VegasA replica of the Parisian Eiffel Tower, together with a mock Arc de Triomphe and the multi-coloured Montgolfier Hot-air balloon now dominate the skyline of Las Vegas, and it is the site of Paris Las Vegas, a casino-hotel modelled on the romantic City of Lights, Paris.

The ‘city-hotel’ was opened in the late 1970’s by the celebrated and beautiful French actress, Catherine Deneuve. It covers an extraordinary 24 acres and was built at a cost of $785 million. The Paris Hotel Las Vegas includes other famous features of the Parisian landscape including the famed Louvre, the Paris Opera House and the La Fontaine des Mers.

The complex is owned and managed by Harrah’s Entertainment and sports sumptuous fabrics, replicas of custom-made European furniture and lavish marble bathrooms in an effort to reproduce the opulence of early Paris.

There are two shopping areas which emulate the feel and vibe of Paris – Bally’s-Paris Promenade and Le Boulevard – and the wares for sale include antique French Jewellery, gourmet food, French-inspired art works and a whole host of fashionable accessories and clothing.

The Hotel Tower offers 2716 rooms and 295 suites, and the choice of nightclubs and bars is impressive – Risqué, Gustav’s Casino Bar, Le Cabaret, Napoleon’s Champagne Bar and Le Bar du Sport keep the guests well watered and entertained.

The casino offers very much the same games as all the other gaming rooms in Las Vegas, but there is one exception to the rule, and at Paris Las Vegas Keno is one of the more unique games of chance. Twenty numbered balls are drawn out of 80, and the punter may select as many numbers as her or she wants, from one to fifteen. The money put down and the number of balls chosen will be reflected in the winnings.

As with all the other competing casinos, the live entertainment is a huge draw card, and Paris Las Vegas is currently showcasing a couple of memorable revues including:

  • Ooh La La – billed as the sexiest topless show in Las Vegas, it is performed inside the Anthony Cool Experience
  • The Anthony Cool Experience – a hypnotist with a raunchy twist
  • The Producers – a Mel Brooks musical starring the famous Tony Danza. It is the recipient of more awards than any other show in history, including 12 Tony Awards!
